Google maps local listing showing new section of web search results

Google is now showing web results on both mobile and desktop searches. Brian Barwig spotted Google displaying web search results in the Google Maps local search listings for any of the individual businesses. Brain, a local SEO expert, said “we are noticing a new section, “Web Results”. Check out the blog to find what changes the Google maps local listing.

How to find it?

When searching for a business on Google Maps, scroll down the Google My Business profile information like NAPW, photos, & reviews, there is a section “People also search for”. Earlier, this was the last section visible on Google Maps. But now you will notice a new section named, “Web Results”.

How does it look?

For instance, if you search for “Umega Lettings”, you will see the web results below on that page. Here is a screenshot of the business listing.

Web Results Look Similar to Google Search Results

The web results appear to be similar to the results in Google Maps local search listings for the same branded query you are searching in Google Maps. Look at the example below. A search for “Umega Lettings” on Google Maps shows web result in the page below. These web results are similar to the Google result you will see in the Google search. Although if the search is branded, there can be a random Facebook page from a competitor in the listings. You will get the same in Google Search results.

Final Thoughts!

If a potential customer then you can scroll down your Google Maps local search listings and the web results do not look for relevant results for your business that can end up being a turn off those customers. If you own a business, make sure that those web results are accurate, the snippets and the content in the search result look informative and useful, just if someone scrolls down to look at them.
